The internet has really changed the game. You can be any guy off the streets and get yourself on MySpace and YouTube and people will start to know your name if you’re good. You don’t necessarily need a record label to be known. Even with the internet, though, there’s a lot of talent out there and some of it gets overlooked. We might be overlooking a lot of talent, but let’s not overlook Slaughter Rico.

Honestly, I don’t really know who Slaughter Rico is. I know he’s from North Philly, and I know he spits HARD. My friend Sam introduced me to him and my jaw was basically through the floor. I thought he was about to be some random guy with mediocre skills, but he’s not. YouTube comments didn’t even have any haters, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before.

I’d like to see what this guy can do with a sick producer and collaborators. If you are someone who can make that happen you should.
