SCKnows was able to catch Curren$y and the rest of Jet Life when they stopped in Houston. Check out the review after the jump and catch more photos on their site.
“Curren$y has always been, and will probably always be my favorite performer to cover whenever he comes to Houston for the sheer fact that the man is hilarious and his shows are extremely well put together; the Jet Life Tour stop in Houston on 4/20 lived up to this and more. The show started off with performances from City (Kickback Sundays Opening Slot Winner) as well as sets from Jet Life’s artists, Cornerboy P, Fiend, Trademark & Young Roddy, Smoke DZA and even a surprise FULL set from the legendary Styles P who just said fuck it and performed half of his set IN the crowd, I never realized how short P was but the fact he got so deep in the crowd to perform is definitely awesome. At around 12:30 Spitta hit the stage, this time without a boot, and proceeded to capture the crowd as he always does with his smooth smoker anthems and clever wordplay. One of the best parts of a Spitta show are the moments when Curren$y basically stops the show to keep the crowd involved (most likely because they are all stoned out of their mind and are about to fall asleep) and does everything from joke around with fans to blurting out “Fiend sounds like a transformer” after his fellow Jet Lifer finished singing the hook from one of Curren$y’s best known tracks. All in all, it was a great show, a very….cloudy show, but a great one nonetheless and I never expect anything less from Curren$y and the entire Jet Life crew every time they are in town. Stay tuned for the recap video. – Grant”
