After days of deliberation, Dominique Larue has decided to re-release her 2009 debut, From Ohio With Love, as a free download. The lushly produced project features production from the likes of Kev Brown, !llmind, J. Rawls, Lee Bannon, and more and guest verses from several independent hip hop stalwarts including Jon Robinson, among others. It also covers the gambit conceptually, showcasing Larue’s rare barslinging abilities, while also giving the listener the emcee’s prospective of life in her hometown, Columbus, OH.

Parker & Lace Cadence – Imagination EP
Posted in Downloads with tags Lace Cadence, Pacific North West, Parker, PNW, Seattle on February 22, 2012 by BenjaI played a track off of this last week on Da What’s Good Radio. “After 2 years collaborating in the lab producing pop, club, and house music together Parker and Lace found a mutual affinity for downtempo rhythms, knocking synths and club ready drums. As they experimented with their own sound, a few beats from Ski Team and a heater from Seattle’s own 10.4 Rog stood out. After a few late nights in Slap, Crackle and Pop studios Imagination began to take shape.”

He certainly fits the mold of a good rapper, Bronx native who grew up listening to the classics of that era, honing his craft and working for his shot. The Kid Daytona continues to make golden era New York hip hop in a refreshing way that keeps his music from sounding stale. Clearly inspired by the Greats, he is looking to continue their tradition by pushing the New York sound back to the forefront of everyone’s mind.
