dRes- Wild Produce

The Newark by way of Philly producer dRes shows and proves that his freshman effort has a seasoned sound with his debut release, Wild Produce.  Conceived over a three year period, the self taught beat smith fuses worldly soundscapes over hard drums for a 16 track compilation which features several guest appearances from many of today’s burgeoning and established hip-hop artists. Featured on Wild Produce include Guilty Simpson, Homeboy Sandman, Tanya Morgan, Stalley, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Count Bass D, Wordsworth, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Truck North, Median, Declaime and others.

Jermiside – Live and Let Live

Lessondary Crew member and HiPNOTT Records recording artist, Jermiside, is back on the scene with his new KevinNottingham.com sponsored free release, Live and Let Live.  A year since his last album release, Middle Classic (with Danny Diggs), Jermiside takes the reigns this time around and produces 9 out of the 12 tracks on this project.  Previous leaks, “The Cookout” and “I’m A Man” are included and additional production comes from Tanya Morngan’s Von Pea, as well as Mike Jaye.  Features on Live and Let Live include Donwill, Spec Boogie and Nicky Guiland.

Da What’s Good Radio – Season 2, Episode 6

DAMN! Our server for the radio is down so I still do not have recordings from last show or this one.  Once it starts working, I will update it and move them to the top so you won’t miss it. A nice random mix of music, old and new, for your listening pleasure.  This week’s indie artist showcase was on Virginia emcee Tony Moon.  I have already done a New Artist Alert, but to reiterate, this guy can spit.  He has an almost maniacal sound about him that heightens his words, giving them an extra edge.  Even still, he has some laid back tracks where he finds the pocket and just rides the beat.
