Bay Area producer Fly Commons has been busy winning over fans over the last year and a half via his work with Erk Tha Jerk (Free Erk, Junk Food and Vegetables) and Nio The Gift. He’s ending the year with a project of his own, titled Greyscale. “I crafted what I felt was my pure hip hop effort,” says Fly. “The greyscale concept purely means spectrum, having everything, dark to light, happy to heavy, and encompasses the mood of my music right now.

The first single and video–“Nothing New”–from the project  and features West Coast underground stars Locksmith and Clyde Carson. Fly chose these two artists to introduce Greyscale marks the first time these two artists have ever done a song together. “I wanted to be the first that unifies them on a track. No one would really expect them to collab, so that’s why I did it. I felt the beat unified their two sounds, slaps yet something a rapper can be lyrical over.”
