At this point, the English language has so many words for “good” that it is hard to keep up. Gemini has chosen “dopest” to describe his skill-set. The Ghanaian tongue-twister is officially signed to 2131 Records while managed and promoted by VRMG and BBNZ, essentially a trifecta of Ghana’a biggest musical infrastructure. With so many endorsements (previous stints with big labels including Skillions and Last 2) and a long list of co-signs, all before dropping an official debut album, Gemini is clearly doing something right! Inspired by Twista, Busta Rhymes and other legends of the 150+ words per minute style, Gemini has found a way to make ‘twisting’ his own by adding his own unique flair. While Tech N9ne and the others bred a generation of American rappers trying to keep up, Gemini is one of the few that have taken to double and triple time rapping in Ghana which help him stand out even further. He has had a huge number of big looks, and his young career can already be deemed a success. The mixtape heavy rapper still maintains the hunger of an up-and-comer with a lot to prove, refusing to consider himself “mainstream” nor settle into his comfortable situation.
