Zion I – Elemental Roots [Song]

Posted on May 22, 2016 by

Hip-Hop MC/Producer Zion I releases a Dub-Reggae centric single “Elemental Roots,” as an acknowledgement of groupies and life on the road.
“It was written about an experience out on tour, where this woman was stalking one of the guys we were touring with and traveling from city to city just to spend whatever time she could with him. Life on the road creates stories in of itself,” said Zumbi, of Zion I.
“She’s a big time girl and she’s always on the grind. Just a pick up girl and you know what’s on her mind,”Zumbi sings. He chimes a repetitive and catchy riddim, singing, “dem gal a sweet, sweet, sweet – rolling in a jeep, jeep, jeep – knock me off my feet, feet, feet – holla if you here it.”
The single “Elemental Roots” is unique to the classic Zion I sound that we are accustomed to hearing, as it is not only Dub-Reggae centric, but one of a few songs in which the MC embraces harmonics and leaves the rapping behind.
