Aesop Rock – Shrunk [Video]

Aesop Rock has announced a new run of tour dates across North America in support of his acclaimed new album, The Impossible Kid. The indie rap mainstay will be joined, once again, by comrades Rob Sonic and DJ Zone for an extensive headlining tour supported by rising Stones Throw artisan Homeboy Sandman, with whom Aesop collaborated on the recently released free EP Lice 2: Still Buggin’. Full tour dates below, tickets go on sale this Friday, October 14. The announcement arrives in conjunction with a new Rob Shaw-directed video for album standout “Shrunk,” which re-contextualizes the song’s narrative about Aesop’s adversarial relationship with therapy as an arcade video game (one exceedingly hungry for coins).
The Impossible Kid, and the tour dates that have followed, have been heralded as one of Aesop’s most vibrant and creative periods, yielding the best first week sales of his entire discography in the wake of rave reviews from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR, Wired, XXL, and more, in addition to a performance on Late Night With Stephen Colbert that marked the first television appearance in the MC’s nearly 20 year career. More recently he was tapped to compose the original soundtrack for the forthcoming motion picture Infinity Baby, which stars Nick Offerman.
