This is actually my introduction to Mir Fontane but he has definitely got my attention. Looking forward to hearing more new music this year.
It’s been a while since fans have received new music from Jersey’s Mir Fontane, though it’s clear he hasn’t slowed down. After releasing his highly anticipated Who’s Watching The Kids project in August ’16, he joined the “Birth Of A New Nation Tour” w/ PnB Rock, Dae Dae, and Shy Glizzy. Fontane closed the year by announcing he signed a deal with 300 Entertainment and re-released his popular “Down By The River” single with the label. Fontane grabs $outh$ide (South Jersey) producer Kev Rodgers to deliver a new freestyle titled “Before The Locs.” The title serves as a nod to his “Options” verse where he raps “I remember Fontane way before he had the locs.” Rapping over a soulful sample of Donny Hathaway’s “Giving Up,” Mir Fontane reflects on his success and the changes he’s experienced.
