“Adult Rappers” is a reflective song that begs the question that many indie artists have asked themselves at some point in their musical journey…”Why am I doing this?…What’s the point?”. We pour our blood, sweat, tears and money into this art, but sometimes it feels like it goes unnoticed. Having contemplated walking away from it all several times, the few silver linings along the way have kept me hooked and inspired to keep pushing on.
Inspired by the hiphop documentary of the same name, I explore the different aspects of being an artist in today’s youth driven landscape reflecting on what I love, who I love and trying to make the 2 worlds co-exist from the perspective of a 40 year old hiphop enthusiast and family man.
