Known for his honest and plainspoken take on Southern-fried street rap, Baton Rouge’s Mista Cain is a Godfather-like figure in the Bayou rap game. Flashing back to the early ’90s in his latest video, Mista Cain reflects on his childhood in “Remember When.” Intercutting present-day clips of Mista Cain in his neighborhood with dramatized flashbacks of his school days, the video contrasts Mista Cain’s adolescent struggle with his current baller lifestyle.
