In March, The Movement Fam‘s manager Tiffany Alexis was approached to shoot a TV special based on her day-to-day activities as an Artist Manager for The Movement Fam for the show “The Mavens“, which is scheduled to air this summer on Bell Fibe TV. The crew followed Tiffany to the set of the “Separate Ways” video – directed, shot and edited by King Richard – and documented the shoot.
A downtown Montreal mansion provided the backdrop for the visual, where brothers Cee and Notion speak on their struggle for success, their motivations and the recent passing of their father in split screen, showcasing the duality of brotherhood and the different paths we can all take through life.
Summer in Canada is a time for celebration, and Cee teamed up with German super-producer Shuko for a soulful trap banger to soundtrack the hot months.
Shuko has worked with some of the biggest names in the game, including Omarion, Tyga, Bow Wow, T-Pain, Talib Kweli, Keith Murray and Vinnie Paz, so teaming up again was an honour for Cee. They first connected on “Where I Belong” from Cee‘s Top 10 album “This Is All I Know“, and “Hazy” brings some of that soulful flavour with a modern vibe.
The visuals, once again shot and directed by Montreal-based filmmaker King Richard, showsCee cruising through a back alley in a search for hazy beer, finding a ton of empties before finally locating what he was looking for – a metaphor for life, really. Cee paid homage to some of his favourite Canadian and American breweries who specialize in hazy IPAs – Bellwoods, Stone City,Dominion City and Old Nation.
